EES performs risk assessments where potential health or ecological risks are projected for remediation, process operations, facility siting, or other scenarios. The risk assessments are based on data from various sources and can be assembled, presented, and reported in the format convenient for the clients' use.

• Establish DQOs, including assessment of methodologies covering strengths, weaknesses and applicability; adequacy of impact identification, measurement, interpretation and communication; ability to be replicated; flexibility/adaptability; resource (input) requirements; and output format

• Field sample data collected on existing contamination levels at a specific point in time when the samples were collected

• Review all definitive references and Analytical data for specific sensitivity, Precision, Accuracy, Representativeness, Comparability, and Completeness (APARCCs) to ensure DQOs are met

• Future contamination level projections developed by mathematical modeling, based on field sample data, using codes acceptable to the cognizant regulatory agencies

• Reference Dose (RfD) data and Hazard Index (HI) quotients from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) data base

• Select, define, and agree upon assessment endpoint(s), such as what ecological resources are valuable and relevant and what function they serve

• Determine level of Ecological Unit, such as assign individual threatened species to a population community or habitat; determine functions and specify values

• Map geographic attributes and boundaries of unit

• Describe features of the ecological resource and characterize sensitivity to stressor(s)

• Measure or predict assessment endpoints, such as what is at risk and at what level should it be protected

• Estimate socioeconomic costs and recommend risk management options
